The Sweet Home area is close to many year-round natural recreational activities, including hiking, fishing, boating and swimming. Green Peter Lake is just east of Foster Lake and also has boat access.  Clear Lake is only 35 miles east of the city and is so clear that petrified trees can be seen under a hundred feet of water.
